Kotex has recently issued a recall on their Natural Balance Security tampons. The reason for the recall... a potentially deadly bacterium... Enterobacter sakazakii, which may cause health risks, including vaginal infections, urinary tract infections (UTIs), pelvic inflammatory disease or infections that can be life-threatening!!! Really Kotex?! Women are buying these tampons because Kotex is a "trusted" brand and these new Natural Balance tampons are supposed to be healthier. It sounds to me that aren't at all healthier!
As if that weren't enough to make your stomach turn... Danielle, owner of the blog Parr for the course has just posted about her experience with Kotex. In her blog Danielle shares a horrifying discovery she made... a MOLDY tampon!!!
The moldy tampon was found in a brand new, un-opened box of Kotex security tampons. When she was opening the plastic wrapper of a tampon she accidentally pushed the inner plunger a bit exposing the tip of the BRAND NEW tampon. That is when she made the horrible discovery... MOLD. Here is a picture from her blog of the moldy tampon...
Now I don't know about you, but THAT makes my stomach turn! She contacted Kotex and they replied with a VERY unsympathetic response and coupons! Coupons, Really? As if she would ever use Kotex again.
I have never been so relieved to be a cloth pad user! Not only do i not have to worry about deadly bacteria or mold, but I have never felt healthier "down there".
